Our Social Network Project

This area of BloggingForBillions.com is very exciting for me. I love blogging and right now I am not getting to blog full time because I work as a massage therapist. The time spent in massage therapy school has been very educational and interesting to say the least. While my time there I have done an intense amount of research on the massage industry and opportunities that are available today for the serious entrepreneur.
There is a great need for social networking in the massage industry and I have decided to to take a leap and create a social networking site for massage therapists. The initial start-up costs is less than $5oo dollars and will get us up and running live within the next 90 days. That includes the domain and hosting for the site.
One of the main reasons I have decided on social networking is because of the impact that MySpace and Facebook is having on our culture here in America and around the world. Social networking is here to stay and is proving to be a titan marketing platform in Internet business.
I also have been facing the dilema of trying to figure out how to stay in contact with my fellow graduates from massage school. We all have been stressing over the issue. The research on the massage industry along with the desire to stay in contact with fellow students has forced me to concluded that there is a great need in the massage industry for social networking in general.
This section of the blog will focus on our journey and share exactly what we are doing to accomplish the goal of building a social networking site. If you would like to start your own social network then this section might be able to give you the resources needed to get going. At least that is the goal for us here at BloggingForBillions.com.

You’re absolutely right that MTs need a social networking group. The AMTA is pretty active here, but the listserv group used as the primary means of communication between local members is very clunky. It would be nice to have a place we could go to with forum topics as well as live group and one-on-one chat. It would especially be nice to have a “peer supervision/consultant” designation for people who have been in the industry a few years who would like to help newer massage therapists (for free via the site.)

Thanks for your comment…that is exactly what we plan to accomplish with MassageAlumni.com. The whole idea is to create a platform that makes it easy for therapists to grow in the industry.

Rob, these are my thoughts exactly. I graduated almost 2 years ago and Love what I do. I am new to blogs and working on the internet, but I am slowly learning the ropes.
I have two websites I have been working on with a couple of MTs. The first is http://www.massage-therapist-resource.com where we have put together modality information and my blog. The second site came about because I had a hard time finding a website to practice for my massage finals and national exam that was affordable. http://www.massage-exam.com has great information about the National exam and the new MBLEx from the federation. We have also compiled information about the leading Insurance companies with a comparison sheet.
Let me know what you think and how we can help or utilize your awesome resource.
